Auctions are those events where properties or goods are sold to the highest bidder. Auctions are mostly public events, where bidders make a series of bids and purchase a particular item for a high price. During auctions, bidders decide the price of an item rather than the seller. It depends on bidders to decide the amount they would want to pay for a specific item. During an auction, a bid is a proof of a legal binding. Bidders agree to pay the amount that they have bid. In a high profile auction, bidders may have to pay a deposit in escrow accounts or give a proof that they can pay for those items.

Different types of auctions take place around the world. Below mentioned are some types of auctions:
1. English auction:
This is a basic type of auction. In this type, people can see the item and then start bidding. Bidders slowly raise the value of their bid until everyone gives up. The highest bidder is the winner. For instance, a seller may want to sell a large amount of hay and will thus, decide to sell this hay to people for the same amount, once a reasonable price is decided.
3. Silent auction:
In this type, the bidders in public will present their bids in a sealed format. These sealed bids open at the same time and bidder with the highest bid wins. There could be a modification in this type of auction. The bidders are allotted a specific period to bid. They can roam in a room displaying the items, and write their bids on an associated sheet of paper. The bidders are allowed to see bids of other bidders and can choose a higher price for an item. At the end of the allotted time, bidder with the highest bid is the winner.

Auctions can be of two types either public or private. Sellers may trade any kind of items in both types of auctions. Some areas where auctions take place are:
1. Antique auction: An antique auction consists of a trade opportunity as well as provides entertainment.

Home Based Business Leads – Do You Know Your Target Market?
Knowing where to find home based business leads can be challenging enough, but do you really know your target market?
When most people join a network marketing company they are told to write a list of 100 family and friends and go and get them to a business presentation. Speaking from experience most of your family and friends will want nothing to do with such an opportunity.
They have heard horror stories about the industry and have been miss informed about the whole network marketing thing. However you go and do as your upline asks and after 100 no’s you begin to feel as though your family were right.
The big problem here is that your friends and family are not home based business leads, they are what it says on the tin. Friends and family.
You may find one or two within the ranks that are really interested and want to know more. They may even join and make a ton of money. But for the most part you need to find out who your target market really is.
Your target market should be other home business owners and here’s why.
- They are already sold on the idea.
- They don’t need much training. (well hopefully)
- They don’t need much motivation from you, they already have that.
- They will have a network of other home business owners.
- They will have some experience in the industry.
- They may even have a training system to plug into.
I’m sure that there are many more reasons but just from the list above you can see why it is much better to work with people who already know what they are doing.
I mean why waste your valuable time trying to train and recruit people that in reality don’t want to be trained or recruited. You are much better off looking for people who are trained and have some level of knowledge about the industry.
Start mixing with other home business owners, learn from them and apply the successful techniques they are using to build their business. If you surround yourself with success you will find that it will be a little easier to have success yourself.
The reason is that you will start to think and act in the same way and manner as these people. They say we are influenced by the people we surround ourselves with, so if you want success then you know what you must do.
